San Leandro Senior Apartments is part of an innovative mixed-use, transit-oriented, affordable housing development.

The second phase of a two-phase development, La Vereda (San Leandro Senior Apartments) is an 85-unit transit-oriented, affordable senior housing development at the San Leandro BART station. Phase One, Marea Alta, completed in 2017, consists of 115 units of affordable family housing.

La Vereda will provide affordable one- and two-bedroom apartments to households earning between 30% and 50% of the area median income. Amenities will include a ground floor community banquet room with an adjoining community kitchen and an exterior courtyard. BRIDGE will partner with Episcopal Senior Communities to provide services to the tenants.La Vereda, like Marea Alta, will be built using modular construction techniques.

Living at La Vereda (San Leandro Senior Apartments)

La Vereda (San Leandro Senior Apartments) will offer 85 units of affordable senior housing consisting of one- and two-bedroom apartments. 62 of the units have project-based section 8 subsidy and will be filled with referrals from the Housing Authority of the County of Alameda. The remaining 22 one-bedroom apartments will have below market rate rents ranging from $533 to $729. Income, age, and other restrictions apply.
