Cynthia A. Parker President & CEO
Cynthia A. Parker is responsible for the overall direction of BRIDGE, as well as its major affiliates such as BUILD, an investment advisor to CalPERS under the California Urban Real Estate Program, and BASS, a licensed life care provider. She joined BRIDGE Housing as President and CEO in February 2010. Ms. Parker brings over 30 years of diverse and relevant experience to BRIDGE, most recently as Regional President for Mercy Housing and President of Intercommunity Mercy Housing. Prior to her tenure at Mercy, she served as Senior Vice President for Seattle-Northwest Securities, a public finance firm, where she oversaw affordable housing, commercial and public facility real estate financing in five Northwest states. Previously, Ms. Parker worked for the City of Seattle, where she established the new Office of Housing, doubled the agency’s housing production and managed a $61 million biannual budget. Earlier, she served as the Executive Director of Anchorage Neighborhood Housing Services and General Manager of Portland Student Services. A former President of the National Neighborhood Housing Network and a former director of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, she has chaired the Sound Families Initiative for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. She currently serves as a director of the National Affordable Housing Trust, the Federal Home Loan Bank of Seattle, Housing Partnership Network and the OneCalifornia Foundation. Ms. Parker is a graduate of Portland State University. |
Rebecca Clark Executive Vice President
Ms. Clark joined BRIDGE as Executive Vice President for Northern California in 2011. Before coming to BRIDGE, she worked as an affordable housing consultant for a variety of nonprofit and for-profit clients, including serving as Managing Director and Acting President for LINC Housing Corporation. Prior to that, she spent a decade in executive leadership positions at National Community Renaissance (National CORE) and two of three nonprofits that merged to form National CORE in 2006. Ms. Clark was instrumental in shaping a cohesive organization through the merger, and she oversaw strategic growth and business planning along with geographic expansion from California to five other states. As Executive Director of Southern California Housing Development Corporation, she grew the development pipeline from six projects in 2000 to 37 projects in 2006.
Ms. Clark previously founded and served as Director of the Construction Management Division at the Los Angeles Community Development Commission. Earlier at the LACDC, as Manager of the Housing Development Division, she negotiated and developed loan agreements and contracts committing over $75 million in subsidy funds, which resulted in more than 2,000 new and rehabilitated affordable homes. She holds a B.A. in Architecture from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona and an M.A. in Business Management from the Peter F. Drucker & Masatoshi Ito Graduate School of Business, Claremont Graduate University. |
Susan M. Johnson Executive Vice President
Ms. Johnson oversees the property management, resident programs and asset management activities of BRIDGE and BASS, including a portfolio of nearly 8,000 units of rental and ownership housing. She joined BRIDGE in 1983 and was promoted to Vice President in 1989. Ms. Johnson is an expert in marketing and lease-up strategies for affordable and mixed-income communities and a sought-after expert in tax credit compliance and fair housing. She holds a B.S. in Sociology from U.C. Santa Cruz and has prior business and management experience. |
Kimberly McKay Executive Vice President
Ms. McKay joined BRIDGE as Executive Vice President for Southern California in 2010. Previously, she was Senior Vice President for The Related Companies of California, where she managed all aspects of developing multifamily affordable housing projects on the West Coast with a focus on large public housing revitalization projects. Prior to that, she was Vice President for Related Capital Company, where her accomplishments included investing approximately $75 million of tax credit equity, closing 25 projects in 10 states and developing a market presence for the company in a new region. Ms. McKay previously served as a Senior Project Manager for Mid-Peninsula Housing Coalition and worked as an architect and planning and development manager for the Naval Facilities Engineering Command. She is a licensed architect and holds a B.A. in Architecture from UC Berkeley and an M.S. in Real Estate Development from MIT. |
D. Kemp Valentine Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Valentine oversees the finance, accounting, human resources and information technology activities for all BRIDGE-related companies. He joined BRIDGE in 2005 and has over 20 years of finance and corporate administration experience. He is a Director of National Housing Partnership Insurance and serves on their Audit and Investments Committees. Prior to joining BRIDGE he worked for 3Com and Lehman Brothers as well as a number of smaller companies. He holds a B.A. in Economics from Dartmouth College and a Master of Business Administration from Indiana University.
| Rebecca V. Hlebasko Vice President and General Counsel
Ms. Hlebasko oversees the legal work for real estate development, project finance, asset management and property management matters for BRIDGE and BUILD. She joined BRIDGE in 2007. Ms. Hlebasko has been a practicing real estate attorney for over 25 years, representing a broad range of developers and institutional investors, with an emphasis on affordable housing and urban infill development. Before coming to BRIDGE, Ms. Hlebasko was a member of the law firm of Sheppard Mullin Richter & Hampton and, prior to that, a partner in the law firm of Pettit & Martin. She holds a B.A. from Fordham University and a J.D. from Yale Law School.
| Lyn Hikida Director of Communications and Fund Development
Lyn Hikida oversees BRIDGE’s external and internal communications and fund development activities. Prior to joining BRIDGE in 2007, Ms. Hikida was the Director of Communications and Fund Development for the Corporation for Supportive Housing, a national nonprofit intermediary that helps communities create housing with services to prevent and end homelessness. Previously, she worked for a nonprofit trade organization, the Pacific Asia Travel Association, in a variety of capacities including Chief Communications Officer and Vice President-Operations, based in Bangkok, Thailand. She also spent four years as a travel industry editor and reporter. Ms. Hikida holds a B.A. in Asian Studies and English from Tufts University and is a graduate of the Radcliffe Publishing Course. She serves on the advisory council of REDF, an organization that creates job opportunities through support of social enterprises.
